The internet service at Broughton was established in 2002, when it became increasingly challenging for the Broughton Hall Estate to let office space without solid connectivity. Broadband was becoming increasingly available at the time, but only in densely populated urban areas.


To counter this, and to enable businesses to move to rural locations, we worked with Tempest Estates to design a solution to provide fast, fibre optic broadband to the clients at Broughton. We purchased a leased line from BT (2Mbps), which at the time was fast, and laid private fibre and copper around the Estate, providing secure, private internet to each of the clients. The solution has significantly evolved since then, and now we service the clients on the Estate with 500Mbps of internet connectivity.
